Independent Producers
Who They Are, How They Think, What They Produce
We surveyed independent producers who provide programming to public radio. Our objectives were to describe their characteristics, determine their opinions and quantify their production output.
We followed up with a survey of acquirers -- those who buy programming for stations and networks -- to document their needs and opinions, with comparisons to the independent producers.
This research was part of a larger project directed by SchardtMEDIA titled Mapping Public Radio's Independent Landscape.
